Visited from the states about a year ago. My wife fell in love with good maple syrup to the point she commissioned a shirt from a friend based off her love maple sugar shacks syrup! So we had to come back to Vancouver a couple weeks ago just to get more syrup! Is it normal to be this in love with maple syrup? Maybe not but it’s amazing syrup!

Highly recommend. It's tasty. It's unique. And the owner(s) are great people. They'll really go out of their way to help you. This is my now my go to gift to bring when I travel. Everyone expects Canadian Maple Syrup. But maple butter? Many people internationally have never heard of it. I hadn't heard of Maple sugar till I tried it at the Maple Sugar Shack. 10/10. Would recommend to everyone. (And yes, the maple syrup here is great quality. I'm not knocking it, I just don't give it as gifts.)

MY FAVORITE brand of maple syrup! I’m glad they have a shop and I always get it at the farmers market when I see the stand! Maple taffy on ice, the MAPLE FUDGE IS TO DIE FOR, of course their maple syrup ( I love a dark or extra dark) and I recently got the bbq sauce I’m so excited to try!

Shocked by Vendor Behavior at Granville Island Public Market Our visit to Granville Island Public Market took a disturbing turn that left our family shaken. Just after closing time, my 9-year-old son, not realizing the market had closed, attempted to open one of the exterior doors. Within seconds, the man from Johnny’s Maple Sugar Shack—the vendor located in the middle of the hallway with a Pride flag—stormed out of his booth and began shouting at us. He aggressively confronted us in public, using profanity and accusing us of breaking the door (which we didn’t). The doors were not clearly marked, and it was unclear whether they were push or pull. Instead of calmly explaining that the market was closed, he chose to escalate the situation in front of my child with hostility and foul language. It’s bewildering that any merchant in such a popular and family-oriented market would think this behavior is acceptable. This kind of aggression toward visitors—especially families—is completely inappropriate and reflects poorly on the market as a whole. What should have been a pleasant family outing ended on an unnecessarily negative and upsetting note.
