💀This place is honestly an anti-Asian restaurant 💀I’m never coming back to this restaurant. I used to be a loyal fan of Sing Sing and have visited many times, even though the service was never particularly great. I never had high expectations, but today was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. I’ve never encountered such blatantly discriminatory behavior at a restaurant serving Asian food. We ordered a pho bo and asked for a split bowl. They brought out a spicy pho instead, and the person who brought it wasn’t even our server. they just said, “Okay, I’ll let your server know.” When our actual server came, we explained we had ordered the nonspicy pho bo and paid for a split bowl. But instead of two bowls, they brought one large bowl and said, “You guys can just share it.” Seriously? We paid the $3 split bowl fee, we weren’t asking for a favor. We asked them to bring it properly, and when they did, it was worse than before. No spoon was provided (even though we saw them give spoons to other tables). At first we didn’t realize anything was wrong, but once we got to the bottom, we noticed the bean sprouts were spoiled and smelled terrible. No wonder the broth tasted off. When we brought it up, they just said the kitchen said it was fine to eat. Really? Look at the photo, does this look fine to you? Since we had already eaten a little (before realizing it was spoiled), we didn’t ask for a refund, but they ended up removing the pho bo from our bill. Still, we left feeling disgusted and disappointed. We even left a tip, but I’ll never go back. It’s shocking to experience this kind of treatment in such a multicultural city. Have you seen how many reviews mention racial discrimination here? I used to come here because the food was genuinely good (I rlyrly recommended this place to many of my friends, and I’ll even include photos to prove how often I used to visit.. ). I really did come here a lot., but now it’s a place I associate with a really upsetting memory.

We walked by this place many times and have always been drawn to the airy and open light-filled dining room. We decided today would be the day to try it out for brunch on our walk home from the farmers’ market at Hillcrest. I felt like I was in an expansive covered deck of a bar near the seaside as soon as we stepped into the restaurant. Although it was a warm and sunny day, we opted to sit inside at the street-facing end of a long communal table to cool off after a long walk. One reason we picked Sing Sing for brunch was that we both felt like a cold beer. We picked our drinks right away. I opted for a fruity pale ale to go with my pho bo and my husband had a pilsner with his chicken katsu burger. My pale ale was refreshing and it was a perfect accompaniment to my big bowl of pho with a large piece of briskets and a fair portion of beef slices and beef balls. We left happily buzzed

Awesome atmosphere with an open concept space (love the garage door/open wall for a nice breeze). Lots of pho and pizza options on the menu. I had the Avocado Tofu Bowl which was really good (plus the option for Poached Shrimp) and the Green Juice that was very unique and refreshing. They were able to make my bowl GF by excluding the fried onions. Would love to see a couple more salad or rice bowls on the menu besides the one I got. I’d definitely come back!

Amazing experience here! The bar manager was great, she spoke us through all the beers and gave us tasters to see which we would prefer. The tofu bowl was one of the nicest bowls I’ve ever had. We also got a vegetarian pizza which was so good. The sticky toffee dessert was also amazing. Will definitely return

Came to Sing Sing Restaurant with friends hoping for a nice meal, but the service really let us down. When I politely asked for a second drink, the server acted annoyed and gave unnecessary attitude. Later, my friend simply asked them to clear our empty bowls, and instead of just doing his job, he complained again. The whole interaction felt tense and unprofessional—we’re Asian girls and it left us wondering if that played a role in how we were treated. The food was okay, but the staff’s disrespectful behavior ruined the night. I’d caution others to think twice before dining here.
